Job summary

United States Seafoods is seeking a qualified vessel cook for one of our factory trawlers in Alaska. This full-time, long-term role operates on a rotating schedule with roughly 60 days on/60 days off.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years on fishing vessels and be able to plan and prepare three to four meals per day for a crew of 85+; duties include budgeting, galley management, and coordinating with the office and vendors while upholding safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working onboard fishing vessels.
• Ability to plan and prepare three to four meals daily for a crew of 85+.
• Availability for the full contract period (up to ~90 days).

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all safe food handling practices are strictly followed.
• Plan menus and maintain budgeted meal costs.
• Prepare and serve three to four meals per day.
• Responsible for communicating with office and food vendors.
• Prepares food and supply orders for galley and housekeeping, manages inventory.
• Promotes and maintains galley rules to enhance comfort and cleanliness.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times.
