Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is building the Terran R rocket and expanding a test-focusedFactory Test team that exposes engineers to the full product lifecycle. The role involves hands-on aerospace testing, assembly, calibration, and inspection of systems and components on demanding test stands.

You will own portions of projects, troubleshoot with minimal supervision, and help shape the test infrastructure as the program scales.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years hands-on aerospace testing, fabrication, or a similar field.
  • Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Read and interpret technical schematics and drawings.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Strong teamwork and effective collaboration.

About the Team

The Factory Test team designs, builds, and operates the infrastructure needed to test nearly every part of Terran R right here at our headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This centralized approach provides engineers and technicians with exposure to the entire product lifecycle across a wide range of part sizes and complexities. The scope and scale are significant, with test stands capable of handling millions of pounds of force. Team members lead multiple projects in parallel, avoiding silos and gaining broad technical experience without needing a background in aerospace. With high-impact campaigns ahead, including thrust structure and stage 2 testing, now is the time to join. You won’t just execute, but you’ll help shape and scale the test infrastructure required to meet the demands of a rapidly growing launch program.

About the Role

About You
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience in aerospace testing, fabrication, or a similar field
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks independently and without supervision, while maintaining a high standard of qualityDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with minimal guidance
  • Solid understanding of aerospace components and systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical schematics and drawings
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to team goals
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in confined spaces or at heights
Nice to haves but not required
  • Experience working on a variety of testing equipment and mechanical/electrical systems
  • Familiarity with creating and reviewing test documentation and work orders
  • Experience in providing feedback to peers and mentoring less experienced team members
  • Previous experience working with advanced aerospace systems, cryogenics, or hydraulic systems

Hiring Range:

$27.20 - $40.80 USD
