Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a Factory Test Engineering intern in Long Beach, CA to design, build, and operate test hardware across multiple teams. You will work on test structures, fluids, and systems engineering projects within a fast-moving rocket program.

The role targets current undergraduate or graduate students in aerospace, mechanical, or chemical engineering, with a foundation in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. On-site internship with hands-on opportunities awaits.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student earning degree in aerospace, mechanical, or chemical engineering, or other related field.
• Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structural design, and instrumentation.
• Hands-on project experience is strongly desired, but not required.

About the Team

The Factory Test team designs, builds, andoperatesthe infrastructure needed to testnearly everypart of Terran R right here at our headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This centralized approach provides engineers and technicians with exposure to the entire product lifecycle across a wide range of part sizes and complexities. The scope and scale are significant, with test stands capable of handling millions of pounds of force. Team members lead multiple projects in parallel, avoiding silos and gaining broad technical experience without needing a background in aerospace. With high-impact campaigns ahead, including thrust structure and stage 2 testing, now is the time to join. About the Role

The Factory Test teamis responsible forall hazardous testing in our Long Beach facilities. We use our breadth of experience and collaborative engineering approach to support everything fromvery largestructural tests to precise valve actuation. To that end, we design, build, andoperateall test assets frominitialconcept to test execution as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
As a Factory Test Engineering intern, you will have projects where you design, build, andoperatetest hardware within one of the following teams:

• Test Structures Engineering

• Test Fluids Engineering

• Test Systems Engineering

About You

• Current undergraduate or graduate student earning degree in aerospace, mechanical, or chemical
  engineering, orotherrelated field

• Basic knowledge of one or more of the following areas: fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structural design, common instrumentation

• Hands-on project experience strongly desired, but notrequired.

Nice to Haves but Not Required

• Past testing experience; eitherpreviousinternships or collegiate projects
