Job summary

Hyle Industries is building intelligence-native infrastructure for engineering and manufacturing, connecting machines and data to software and to manufacturing.dev. You will design the layer that links controllers, data, and automation, enabling end-to-end visibility of jobs from release to inspection.

You will implement automation across CAM post-processing, fixtures, tool libraries, and setup workflows, while introducing robotics on the factory floor to improve payback and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial automation or manufacturing systems (PLCs, controllers, industrial protocols).
  • Software fluency in Python and Linux, plus networking basics.
  • Hands-on time with CNC machines and respect for operating pressures (e.g., 87,000 psi).
  • Record of making a physical system work end to end.

Responsibilities

  • Connect machines: controllers, OPC UA, MTConnect, vendor APIs, and what the machine speaks.
  • Build systems to track a job from release to inspection and the data they emit.
  • Automate path from a released job to a running program: CAM post-processing, setup sheets, fixturing, tool management.
  • Bring robots and automation onto the floor where they justify themselves.

Job description

Connect the machines, so the factory can be read and driven as a system.

01 Hyle

Hyle Industries is building intelligence-native infrastructure for engineering and manufacturing: models that understand engineering, geometry, and manufacturing end to end, an API that exposes manufacturing to software, and a factory that makes the parts. The goal is to collapse the time between an idea and a physical part.

02 The role

Factory 01 has a waterjet, a mill, a lathe, printers, and inspection. Today a person carries the job between them. You will build the layer that connects them: machine data, job state, fixtures, tool libraries, and inspection results, exposed to software and, through manufacturing.dev, to machine intelligence. Then you will automate more of the path from quote to machine.

03 You will
  • Connect the machines: controllers, OPC UA, MTConnect, vendor APIs, and whatever a machine actually speaks.
  • Build the systems that track a job from release to inspection, and the data they emit.
  • Automate the path from a released job to a running program: CAM post-processing, setup sheets, fixturing, tool management.
  • Bring robots and automation onto the floor where they pay for themselves.
04 You bring
  • Industrial automation or manufacturing systems experience: PLCs, machine controllers, industrial protocols.
  • Software fluency: Python or a systems language, Linux, networking.
  • Hands-on time with CNC machines, and respect for what can go wrong at 87,000 psi.
  • A record of making a physical system work end to end.
05 Nice to have
  • Robotics: industrial arms, cobots, and the cells around them.
  • CAM and post-processor development.
  • Metrology integration.
  • Electrical and controls design.
06 What we expect

You move fast and you sweat the details. You take responsibility for the whole system, not just your piece of it. You push to make everything around you better.

07 Compensation

Salary and equity set by the role and by your experience, and stated in the first conversation. Health, dental, and vision cover. Relocation to Marietta if you need it.
