Job summary

Nestlé USA is seeking a Factory Project Engineer to provide technical leadership for capital projects in a manufacturing setting. You will oversee project execution from design through commissioning, coordinate with internal clients and external partners, and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

The role focuses on delivering cost-effective solutions, managing budgets and schedules, and supporting continuous excellence initiatives within the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 1–2 years of project management work experience; leading on projects of $1M or less
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Ability to analyze data and apply problem-solving techniques to resolve issues
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to complete major projects in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to schedule resources effectively
• Able to manage Scope, Cost, Schedule and risks on small projects

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of pre-project approval documents including project charter, project management plan, project kick start, estimate and milestone schedule creation.
• Monitor design progress to ensure deliverables meet key components.
• Coordinate bid package development and release for construction bidding and field execution.
• Select contractors and contracting methods
• Direct and execute installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects.
• Manage adherence to project scope and approvals for changes using engineering methods.
• Provide monthly cost forecasts and cash flow projections via project cost/status reports.
• Maintain milestone schedules with integrated detailed scheduling per project charter.
• Collect data and feedback for projects.
• Ensure compliance with quality and GMP requirements per FDA and OSHA.
• Provide construction management and plant startup support as needed.
• Evaluate, select, and issue contracts for construction firms through bidding and vetting.
• Self-directed project management from end to end with minimal supervision
