Job summary

Open Select is a seed-stage startup building an autonomous manufacturing operating system for CNC factories supplying the US defense supply chain. You will join as one of the first engineers, owning end-to-end software from scratch and delivering production-ready code daily on the shop floor.

You should have a CS degree or equivalent with a 3.75+ GPA and 2+ years shipping real software used by customers. Strong Python experience; Django is a plus.

Qualifications

• CS degree or equivalent required, GPA 3.75 or higher.
• 2+ years shipping real software products used by customers.
• Strong Python experience; Django knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build a factory ERP from scratch including inventory, materials, and part flow.
• Develop machine monitoring software with low-latency data from CNC machines.
• Push instructions back to machines and support real-time bidirectional communication.
• Create quality management systems tracking part accuracy at micron-level precision.
• Gather feedback from machinists and iterate production software rapidly.
• Architect scalable systems usable across multiple factory sites nationwide.
• Own entire product areas with minimal direction from day one.
