Job description

What will you be doing?

Based at our Coffin Factory in Nottinghamshire, we are recruiting Factory Operatives to join our dedicated team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn new skills.

You will work on completing production processes to meet high standards of quality and performance while following health & safety regulations.

Your responsibilities include using your knowledge of our products and processes to produce a variety of coffins, achieving daily targets, and adhering to standard operating procedures.

You will become multiskilled to cover for absent colleagues and demonstrate enthusiasm for training on all factory processes, including external training as needed.

As a cooperative team member, you will promote effective working relationships with colleagues and third parties, and help promote our Coffin Factory within the local community.

You will also ensure machinery and premises are kept clean and tidy, and perform any other duties as required.

How will I know if I am right for this role?

Ideally, you will have previous factory experience and flexibility in working hours.

Experience in timber processes is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

This fast-paced role requires dedication, enthusiasm, strong organization, and communication skills. You should be customer-focused and a good team player, working towards both team and individual targets.

If you are eager to learn new skills and want to be part of a warm, welcoming team, we want to hear from you.

What’s in it for me?

In addition to a competitive salary, benefits include:

  • Fantastic colleague discount of up to 20% on our products
  • Retail discounts on various offers, savings on days out, and holiday discounts
  • Holiday buy—up to an extra week of annual leave annually
  • Colleague recognition celebrating achievements
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies supporting you during significant life events
  • Share of profits as a thank you for your contribution
  • Paid volunteering days—three days per year
  • Give as you earn charity support options
  • Healthcare Cashplan for healthcare expenses
  • Company Pension with employer contributions and retirement planning resources
  • Life Assurance coverage for nominated beneficiaries
  • Personalized learning and development with access to various training programs
