Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity in Long Beach, CA for a Factory Operations Technician. The role supports standing up new work centers, installing and moving equipment, and assisting with production readiness.

The technician will work hands-on with pneumatics, electrical enclosures, and PLC logic, while maintaining safe, organized work areas. Responsibilities include asset management, tooling, inventory documentation, and contributing to site improvements.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and/or electrical experience required.
• Strong hands-on skills with tools and technical documentation.
• Ability to install, modify, and repair equipment.
• Ability to interpret and follow technical work instructions.
• Safety-focused mindset with LOTO experience.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Able to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in standing up new work centers, including setting up workbenches and organizing/cleaning work spaces.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and relocations — including machine installations and moving one-off prototypes into production.
• Work hands-on with pneumatics, push-to-connect fittings, and mechatronics systems.
• Build electrical enclosures and support PLC logic implementation.
• Manage equipment assets, tooling, and inventory documentation.
• Assist with factory improvement projects, including work center beautification.
• Move assets and hardwire, and scrap unused equipment as part of early-phase site readiness work.
• Assemble semi-complex mechanisms following detailed work instructions.

Job Details

• Contract Location: Long Beach, CA
• Pay Rate Range: $25-30/hr
• ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
