Job summary

Hitachi Energy in South Boston VA is seeking a Factory Director Senior Leader to oversee all aspects of the Distribution Transformer plant’s operations, including production, quality, lean manufacturing, and logistics.

You will lead staff, implement continuous improvement, manage the SIOP process, and develop future leaders while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality and safety standards.

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Factory Director Senior Leader to manage all aspects related to operations of the Distribution Transformer manufacturing plant in South Boston VA which includes the full scope of production, quality, operational excellence and logistics.

Key Tasks:

• Manage overall manufacturing operations, including staff and the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process.
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and lean principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Develop programs and metrics to optimize operational performance and working capital.
• Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing teams while establishing a talent pipeline for future leaders. Ensure a strong customer focus and uphold high ethical standards in all operations.
• Provide a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with the ITM (Integrated Transformer Management System) team to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.
• Address challenges: backfill key positions and provide training and mentoring to leaders. Tackle production hurdles due to machine issues, part shortages, or personnel shortages.
• Promote and embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.
