Job summary

Siemens Mobility, Lexington, NC, is seeking an entry-level Factory Commissioning Test Technician for the 2nd shift to join our growing team. You will perform electrical and mechanical commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and document repairs on next-generation light rail, locomotives, and coaches.

The role requires a basic background in electrical/mechanical systems, willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently or with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical testing.
  • Proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or mechatronics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars.
  • Troubleshoot, document, and repair electrical and mechanical failures.
  • Work with state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment.
  • Understand and comply with safety standards.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to team members.
  • Read, interpret and understand schematics.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an entry-level Factory Commissioning Test Technician to join our team in Lexington, NC! We are willing to train and help you grow in this role. This person will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing next-generation light rail, locomotives, and coaches. Need to be familiar with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars
  • Troubleshoot, document, and repair electrical and mechanical failures
  • Work with state-of-the-art diagnostic test equipment.
  • Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards.
  • Communicate with others, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information.
  • Have ability to work independently and among a team with multi-disciplinary backgrounds.
  • Read, interpret and understand written or electronic schematics.
  • Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • High school diploma (or GED)
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical testing
  • Must be proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or mechatronics program education or similar preferred

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $46,002 – $53,958. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
