Job summary

Vertiv in Austin seeks an experienced leader to own the automation, manufacturing technology, and digital factory roadmap for STL. You will identify, develop, implement, and scale automation solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing performance while supporting growth and scalability.

You will partner with operations and leadership to define long-term automation strategies, drive capital investments, and standardize deployment methodologies across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field and 8–12+ years in industrial automation.
• Proven ability to develop and execute automation roadmaps and modernization initiatives.
• Experience leading automation equipment selection, controls integration, and startup activities.
• Strong knowledge of robotics, vision systems, motion control, safety systems, and industrial communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop STL automation strategy and deployment roadmap.
• Evaluate opportunities across machining, brazing, assembly, testing, and material movement.
• Support automation equipment selection and supplier engagement.
• Develop business cases and implementation plans for automation investments.
• Define automation requirements for new production cells and processes.
• Support controls integration, system validation, and commissioning.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to align automation with production flow.
• Support connected factory and digital manufacturing initiatives.
• Establish automation standards and technology architecture for STL.
• Own long-term STL automation and manufacturing technology roadmap.
• Lead future automation expansion projects.
• Identify productivity and safety gains through automation.
• Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies and digital tools.
