Role Overview
This leadership role involves managing a team of automation engineers, overseeing project execution, and ensuring technical excellence across PLC, HMI, SCADA, and IIoT systems. You'll work closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver tailored automation solutions across the Southeast region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of PLC engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration
- Manage project lifecycles from planning through execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
- Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting for complex automation systems
- Serve as a technical advisor to clients on system architecture, technology selection, and implementation strategies
- Coordinate resource planning and allocate engineering support across projects and sales opportunities
- Support proposal development by contributing to scopes of work and cost estimates
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain service quality
- Conduct performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor team KPIs and implement strategies for performance optimization
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
Qualifications
Required:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in PLC systems, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across NC, SC, and VA
- Valid driver's license
Preferred:
- Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms and industrial networking
- Familiarity with industry standards (ISA, IEC)
- Background in regulated industries (e.g., FDA)
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
- Experience with computer systems validation and Windows-based environments
