Role Overview

This leadership role involves managing a team of automation engineers, overseeing project execution, and ensuring technical excellence across PLC, HMI, SCADA, and IIoT systems. You'll work closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver tailored automation solutions across the Southeast region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of PLC engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration
  • Manage project lifecycles from planning through execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
  • Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting for complex automation systems
  • Serve as a technical advisor to clients on system architecture, technology selection, and implementation strategies
  • Coordinate resource planning and allocate engineering support across projects and sales opportunities
  • Support proposal development by contributing to scopes of work and cost estimates
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures to maintain service quality
  • Conduct performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor team KPIs and implement strategies for performance optimization
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Qualifications

Required:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in PLC systems, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across NC, SC, and VA
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred:

  • Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms and industrial networking
  • Familiarity with industry standards (ISA, IEC)
  • Background in regulated industries (e.g., FDA)
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
  • Experience with computer systems validation and Windows-based environments
