Job summary
John Deere Harvester is seeking a Factory Automation Engineer in East Moline, IL to support shop floor automation, deliver projects, and improve manufacturing performance. You will work across PLCs, HMIs, Ignition, SQL databases, and MES/SCADA platforms to enhance data visibility and operator experience.
The role requires hands-on experience with electrical design, control systems, and project delivery, with shifts that may include weekends as needed.
Qualifications
- Engineering background in electrical, controls or computer fields.
- Experience troubleshooting automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, MES/SCADA, and shop floor apps.
- Knowledge of electrical design codes and drafting tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive shop floor support for uptime, data collection, and operator interfaces across automation systems.
- Develop and support electrical systems, PLC programs, HMI screens, and production reporting tools.
- Execute Ignition-related automation projects from concept to deployment and handoff to operations.
