Job summary

RE-1 Valley School District is seeking a dynamic Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher to serve grades 9-12 and lead the FCCLA program. The position offers a 4-day school week (Tuesday - Friday), 1.0 FTE, and benefits; salary ranges from $44,000 to $65,853 on the Teacher Salary Schedule with an extra duty stipend for FCCLA advisor based on the Extra Duty Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or related field preferred and given first consideration.
• Colorado teaching license with CTE endorsement or ability to obtain within defined timeframe.
• Colorado Substitute Teaching License if full license not completed.
• Knowledge of Colorado CTE standards and career pathways.
• Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Colorado Academic Standards for FCS.
• Teach Foods & Nutrition, Child Development & Parenting, Personal Finance; Career Exploration.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Integrate CTE pathways and real-world applications.
• Serve as FCCLA advisor and lead student participation in events and leadership conferences.
• Maintain FCCLA compliance and reporting; support leadership development and service projects.
• Maintain high-quality FCS program aligned with Perkins V standards.
