Job summary

Odyssey House in Salt Lake City is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician. You will support upkeep of HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems and grounds to create a safe, welcoming living environment for residents.

This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule at $22.50 per hour with a robust benefits package including medical, dental, life, disability insurance, a 403(b) with employer match, PTO, sick leave, education assistance, and transit perks.

Compensation and Schedule

$22.50 per hour Monday - Friday

Job Duties
  • Assist in the maintenance, upkeep, and renovations, including HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, and refuse removal.
  • Assist in building code inspections and licensure compliance, including City, County, and State Fire and Health inspections and Joint Commission.
  • All grounds maintenance, upkeep, and services.
  • Reports to Director of Facilities. This position is non-exempt.

Requirements
Experience/Skills Required

This position offers the right candidate a flexible work schedule in an environment of collaboration with other facilities managers at other locations. We seek a person with a passion for repairs and maintenance, yard maintenance, painting, and generally making our facility a pleasant place for our residents. Experience in repairs, plumbing, HVAC, yard and building maintenance, construction, and electrical work preferred. Position requires lifting and the ability to maneuver on ladders and in confined spaces.

Required
  • Willingness and ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving history (this position requires candidates to drive Odyssey House vehicles. Odyssey House will verify driver eligibility by reviewing annual Motor Vehicle Registrations. If offered the position, you authorize Odyssey House to review your Motor Vehicle Registration records to determine eligibility to drive for Odyssey House)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (available at Odyssey House)
  • Must comply with annual TB tests, flu, and Covid immunization
  • Must meet employment eligibility
  • Must be able to work variable shifts as needed

Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screenings, which may include background checks, fingerprinting, applicable sex offender registry screenings for Adult Residential roles, and other position-related verifications. Roles requiring driving are subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review and valid Utah driver’s license.
