Job summary

Athens is hiring a Shop Utility Worker to maintain cleanliness of the facility, wash and maintain bins, and support yard operations. The role requires overtime and weekend availability as needed.

Essential duties include yard maintenance, truck and equipment support, general operational tasks, and basic facility repairs. A high school diploma and some maintenance experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 1 year of experience in general hands-on facility maintenance or basic construction
• Experience with basic painting, minor drywall repairs, using common hand power tools, basic installations/repairs and general facility upkeep.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the yard in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Sweep and clean work areas, parking areas, fueling areas, and designated walkways.
• Assist with the cleaning and general appearance of collection trucks and equipment.
• Perform other duties reasonably related to the position and operation.
