Job summary

6BO IAP World Services, Inc. is seeking a Technician I to ensure the safety and functionality of our facilities by reading and interpreting system drawings, troubleshooting, and restoring operations of various facility systems including power, electrical, and plumbing.

The role requires a high school diploma, 4 years of relevant experience, and certifications including CPR and emergency response training. Candidates must also maintain a current Top Secret security clearance.

Job description

Job Overview

As the Technician I, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting facility and system drawings, diagrams, and schematics to ensure a thorough understanding of the infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting and restoring operations of various facility systems and equipment, including power generation, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and ventilation, environmental controls, and life safety systems. This role is integral to maintaining the safety and functionality of our facilities and requires a professional with a strong background in facility and equipment operations.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience in the assigned area required.
  • Extensive knowledge in candidate’s specialized function.
  • A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
Certifications
  • Certified in CPR with AED and basic first aid within 30 days of assignment to the contract (and annually thereafter).
  • Must complete Incipient Fire Brigade Training within 60 days of start date.
  • Meet qualification standards to be a Technician per the Contractor's Training Program.
  • Have or be able to obtain within 90 days the appropriate craft licenses and certifications.
Security Clearance

MUST hold and maintain a current/active Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Must be able to obtain Yankee White clearance and be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI).

Fit for Duty Requirements
  • Emergency response, firefighting, rescue operations, and other actions under stressful conditions.
  • Work in environments that may contain toxic industrial chemicals/materials (TICs/TIMs), irritants, particulates, biological and nonbiological hazards, and heated gases.
  • Climb six or more flights of stairs while wearing a protective ensemble weighing 50 lbs or more, and carrying equipment/tools weighing an additional 20 lbs or more.
  • Wear a protective ensemble that is encapsulating and insulating.
  • Drag or carry victims weighing over 200 lbs, climb ladders, operate from heights, and walk or crawl in the dark along narrow and uneven surfaces.
  • Handle unpredictable emergency requirements for prolonged periods of extreme physical exertion without benefit of warm‑up, scheduled rest periods, meals, access to medication(s) or hydration.
  • Operate under high CO2 and low O2 levels for extended periods without SCBA/Breathing Apparatus.
