Job summary

Busch Vacuum Solutions is seeking a dedicated Facility Technician for its Virginia Beach, VA facility. This 1st shift role (Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) focuses on building maintenance across carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general systems.

The position involves preventative maintenance, supply management, and repair work, with safety as a priority. Targeted compensation is $22.00-$27.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
• 2+ years of HVAC experience preferred.
• 2+ years of forklift operating experience preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the building HVAC system.
• Perform scheduled work requests for building and grounds.
• Perform day-to-day repairs, emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with office moves, furniture moves, and factory equipment moves.
• Serve as backup for security procedures, including building lock up and opening.
• Work at heights using a scissor lift or boom lift and operate a forklift safely.
• Order materials and supplies to complete tasks.
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
• Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility.
• Assist with removal of cardboard, scrap, and debris.
• Assist with maintenance of grounds and properties.
• Assist with manufacturing equipment maintenance as required.

Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling.

We have an exciting direct hire opportunity for an experienced Facility Technician at our manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia!

The Facility Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks across multiple areas, including carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and general facility systems. This position orders and maintains operating supplies to support the preventative maintenance program, performs scheduled preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment, and assists with day-to-day and emergency repairs, building security, grounds maintenance, and manufacturing equipment maintenance as needed.

This is a 1st shift position, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Targeted Compensation: The targeted compensation range for this position is $22.00-$27.00 per hour, depending on the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
• 2+ years of HVAC experience preferred.
• 2+ years of forklift operating experience preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
• Valid driver's license that must be maintained throughout employment and meet Busch insurance standards required.

Job Requirements

• Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen, 7-year criminal history check
  • Most felonies are a disqualifier, misdemeanors are considered on a case-by-case basis
• Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE
• Ability and willingness to travel less than 5% domestically for training purposes.
• Ability to work off-hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to support facility maintenance and business needs.
• Employment with Busch Vacuum Solutions requires current work authorization in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, grasping, and manual manipulation throughout the shift.
• Occasional reaching, climbing, crawling, squatting, and kneeling.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work at heights above 20 feet using an articulating lift.
• Ability to work around facility and manufacturing equipment and in areas where dust, oil, and grease may be present.
• Must be able to see and hear visual and audible alarms and wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, electrical-hazard-rated safety footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, and personal fall protection.
