Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Facility Technician in Binghamton, NY to support a critical industrial campus with data centers. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and service electrical and mechanical systems across multiple buildings on site.

The role requires 5+ years in facilities operations, with strong hands-on skills in electrical, mechanical, and CMMS usage. A military background in power generation or related areas is a strong plus. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities operations experience with electrical and mechanical/HVAC equipment.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and/or electrical support systems.
• Familiar with maintenance/repairs using common hand and power tools.
• Military/Veteran experience with electrical/mechanical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and run diagnostics on facilities equipment within the data center and buildings on site.
• Support plumbing, mechanical, pipe fitting, welding, coil brazing, pumps, basic mechanical servicing, low-voltage electrical repairs, and general maintenance.
• Partner with sub-contractors and vendors when necessary.
• Operate and perform routine and emergency service on systems: critical power, switchgear, generators, UPS, PDU, and building monitoring systems.
• Ensure all MOPs and SOPs are developed and followed for operations and maintenance.
• Assist with CMMS database management as needed.

Facility Technician - Binghamton, NY

This opportunity is working with a leading managed services firm supporting an Industrial campus which supports, high tech, AI and mission-critical data center environments. We are looking for a Facility Tech to support a critical industrial campus which has several data centers on campus. The Facility Tech will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the industrial campus supporting both infrastructure and assuring compliance with company’s policies and procedures. The Data Center on campus is a 7x24x365 a year operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and Run Diagnostics, Conduct Preventive Maintenance and Emergency Repairs on Facilities Equipment within the Data Center in addition to any buildings on site as specified and on schedule
• Support plumbing, mechanical, pipe fitting,welding, coil brazing, rebuilding pumps, basic mechanical system servicing, low-voltage electrical repairs, and general maintenance
• Partner when necessary with sub-contractors and vendors
• Operate and perform both routine and emergency service on a variety of systems, including but not limited to; Critical power - low/medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, paralleling switchboards, UPS, PDU, and building monitoring systems
• Ensures that operational, maintenance and emergency methods of procedure (MOP’s and SOP’s) are developed and strictly adhered to
• Assist with CMMS database management when needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant / technical knowledge and practical experience of Facilities Operations with Electrical and Mechanical / HVAC equipment such as: UPS, Generators, Switchgears, PDU's, CRAC Units, DC Power Systems, CRAH Units, Chillers, Air handling units, computer grade cooling systems, CRAH Units, DC Power Systems, and building monitoring/control systems, plumbing, welding, millwork, etc
• Must have experience in operating, troubleshooting and maintenance Mechanical and/or Electrical Support Systems
• Familiar with conducting maintenance and repairs using tools such as: pipe threaders, hydraulic press, welders, grinders, oxygen acetylene torch, multi-meter, etc
• Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus! (Navy Nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.)
• Strong verbal, written communications skills
• Experience working with various computer systems and applications
