GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY is seeking a Facility Technician to maintain facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment in Abilene, Texas.
The role performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, basic repairs, HVAC upkeep, and coordinates with contractors while keeping records and prioritizing safety.
The Facility Technician is responsible for maintaining company facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment. This position performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and general facility upkeep while responding to facility needs in a timely and professional manner.
Perform routine repairs and upkeep of company buildings, facilities, and equipment.
Complete basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.
Inspect facilities and equipment to identify repair needs and potential safety concerns.
Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
Complete basic HVAC upkeep, including changing filters and identifying potential issues.
Maintain company grounds and exterior areas as needed.
Assist with the setup, relocation, and installation of office furniture, equipment, and facility items.
Respond promptly to facility-related requests and issues.
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs or services are required.
Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and completed work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in facility upkeep, construction, or a related field preferred.
General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and building systems.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple facility needs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical work for extended periods.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely use required tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
This position may work in office buildings, fabrication facilities, warehouses, shops, and outdoor environments. The employee may occasionally be exposed to noise, dust, weather conditions, and other conditions commonly associated with industrial and construction environments.
