Job summary

First Security Bank seeks a Facilities Tech I to keep its buildings running smoothly and safely. You’ll handle maintenance, repairs, and grounds work, ensure security and safety checks, and support daily operations across branches.

Proficiency with building management systems and ability to learn procedures are essential. As part of a team, you’ll perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical tasks, and coordinate with management on repairs, upgrades, and compliance.

Responsibilities

Job description

About The Role

Facilities Tech I plays an important role in keeping our First Security Bank buildings running smoothly and safely. Facility Tech I is responsible for a variety of tasks to help ensure essential systems and ground maintenance work properly keeping areas safe, clean and attractive. The Facility Tech I is responsible for maintenance repairs of bank properties and equipment, and related functions. Under general supervision of the Facilities Manager and in conformance with established policies and procedures, Facilities Tech I is responsible for maintenance repairs of bank properties and equipment, and related functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all internal and external customers, supporting the goals and mission of the bank.
  • On a regular rotating schedule, do a visual structural damage and security check for main bank. Change security sign for employees to enter by 7am as long as it is safe to do so. Report all problems to the manager or President or Security Officer.
  • Clean sidewalks, parking lots and grounds all year in all types of weather conditions including snow removal on Main Bank properties using a plow, a shovel, or a snow blower. Mow and trim grass, maintain the irrigation system and complete other duties related to landscaping and lawn work.
  • Perform safety check of boiler and air handler systems as scheduled by the manager, including weekends and holidays, to make sure it is operating properly.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure its proper operation and report problems to the manager or President.
  • Stay up to date with the maintenance computer programs including HVAC Metasys, Lighting programs, and fire suppression system.
  • Perform maintenance duties including, but not limited to; painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work
  • Become familiar with and periodically review the bank’s robbery recovery procedures.
  • Occasionally design and build structural bank equipment (ie. carts, bulletin boards etc.).
  • Move and arrange desks, furniture and partitions as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects assigned by the manager.
  • Provide back-up in ordering janitorial, kitchen and maintenance supplies.
  • Assist Branch Locations as time allows.
  • Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish job duties and provide in-person contact with customers.

About You
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license is required to operate a motor vehicle and you must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to our insurer.
  • Must have or obtain a valid State of Montana Boilers License within 1 year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of maintenance experience; preferably in a large commercial building environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience in all areas of maintenance, including - painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY
  • Demonstrated computer skills to troubleshoot maintenance issues, for communication and record keeping. Including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have math skills to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished orally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must exhibit professional and friendly attitude and must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Schedule to be determined by the Facilities Manager to meet the needs of the business. Some weekend and after-hours scheduling will be required. Overtime may be required to complete job responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to routinely perform work both indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level and outside in sometimes inclement weather.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include:

Constant lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. required to hear, talk, write, keyboard/computer entry, reach, stretch, work under time constraints with attention to details. Frequent lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
