Position Title: Facility Services Specialist – Electrician
Department/Division: Facility Services: Facility Maintenance

Pay Grade: Grade 9
Reports To: Operations Manager, Facility Services
Ensures the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems throughout the College facilities. Serves as an electrician and provides technical expertise for electrical maintenance, construction, troubleshooting, and contractor oversight.
For most job tasks; on concrete and carpet; at times on grass; may walk 5-6 hours per day from one building to another.
For most work tasks at a standard desk in a swivel chair.
Required for most work tasks to safely perform electrical or other work; drive to vendors; read manuals and blueprints; observe electrical problems. Color discrimination and near visual acuity required.
To communicate with staff, supervision and contractors.
A variety of tools, equipment, and materials from floor to waist or overhead to work on electrical systems; examples of weights: rigid conduit - 55 lbs.; rotary hammer - 30 lbs.; constant carrying of tool belt - 20 lbs.; utility cart - 30 lbs push/pull exertion.; ladders - 20-25 lbs.; tool box - 24 lbs.; drill - 15 lbs.; doors - up to 150 lbs (requires 2 people); personnel lift- 45 lbs push/pull exertion;
To perform electrical work with small tools, parts, or wires; work on the inside of machinery or equipment.
Tools, equipment, supplies; required to move large or bulky items such as rigid conduit, doors, or lumber; bi-manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination required.
To repair or maintain equipment or electrical systems on or under the floor or below waist level; in the boiler room or attic may be required to assume a variety of positions to work under and around pipes and other structures and fixtures; to work overhead may be required to twist while lifting, pushing or pulling.
Ladders and stairs; balance required to work on ladders replacing or repairing lights or fixtures overhead.
To change ballast/driver; repair and replace overhead fixtures; work in attic or central plant room.
To drive college vehicle and equipment on and off campus. To operate powered man lifts and lifting equipment to repair inside and outside Lighting on light poles.
