Job summary

Derby Rec is seeking a Facility Services Custodian to handle routine upkeep and light repairs for our facilities. Work is primarily during evening hours and may include support for events and special projects.

The ideal candidate has a background in maintenance or housekeeping, is at least 18 years old, can pass a background check, and can lift up to 50 lbs. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Background in maintenance or housekeeping preferred.
• Must be 18 and possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in environments with UV light/heat.

Responsibilities

• Upkeep and daily maintenance of facilities assigned by supervisors.
• Perform repairs and special maintenance projects as assigned.
• Available for special events as assigned.
• Implement daily and annual preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
• Make recommendations for the improvement of the facilities to the Facilities Services Coordinator.

Job description

The Facility Services Custodian is responsible for basic maintenance and upkeep of DRC facilities. Most duties are routine maintenance but may be assigned repairs and other responsibilities as needed. Works primarily evenings.

EDUCATION: High school diploma preferred

EXPERIENCE: Background in maintenance or housekeeping preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Functions may be performed in an environment that may cause exposure to ultra-violet rays and heat. Should be able to see and hear, sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk about and repetitively lift weights up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

A mature responsible person with knowledge of proper maintenance techniques and ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Must be 18 and possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
