Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) to oversee the security program for the Kratos Huntsville location. You will protect classified information, facilities and personnel, and serve as the primary liaison with government security officials.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5–10 years of security experience, a Top Secret clearance, and thorough knowledge of NISPOM, DoD guidance, and SAP/SCI programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years’ experience; additional years may be used in lieu of a degree.
• Current Top Secret clearance is required; additional access may be necessary per program needs.
• Demonstrated success as an FSO/AFSO or equivalent for 2+ years.
• Thorough working knowledge of NISPOM, DoD guidance, ICDs, and related security standards.
• Experience with clearance processing, indoctrinations, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive security programs aligned with goals and best practices.
• Perform risk assessments and vulnerability testing to mitigate threats.
• Collaborate with PMs, IT, legal, and other departments to embed security requirements.
• Maintain and update security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Oversee security awareness training and employee education.
• Monitor compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Speak for the program and security team on critical decisions and access control.
• Provide guidance to employees and subcontractors; modify operations as needed.
• Develop OPSEC training to protect critical information and controlled tech.
• Investigate security incidents and prepare internal/external reports.
• Maintain relationships with contract security offices for clearances.
