Job summary

RAND Washington, D.C. seeks a seasoned Facility Security Officer to uphold the government security program at our site. You will manage classified material handling, liaise with DCSA and DoD sponsors, and ensure compliance with NISPOM, ICD guidance, and related regulations.

The role requires independent judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate across security domains, COMSEC, physical security, and personnel security while reporting to the Division Security Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 8+ years in industrial security, or 12+ years without degree.
• Strong knowledge of NBIS, DISS, NISS and MS Office suite.
• Certified Facility Security Officer (CFSO) preferred; ISP certification preferred.
• Ability to work with federal regulations (NISPOM, ICDs, SEADs, 32 CFR Part 117).

Responsibilities

• Manage DD 254 contract security requirements lifecycle and coordinate approvals.
• Lead and coordinate with DCSA reps and DoD sponsors for assessments and inspections.
• Act as Site Security Manager, coordinate with law enforcement and provide security training.
• Maintain security documentation and incident reporting.
• Ensure NSA COMSEC compliance and manage classified material transfer.
