Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Coordinator to oversee sanitation and general maintenance in the Iowa facility. The role involves routine cleaning, minor plumbing/electrical tasks, and coordination of waste disposal to support safety and environmental goals.

The position requires adherence to food safety and general safety guidelines, with responsibilities including stock of sanitation supplies and participation in safety/security protocols within a warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
• Able to identify problems, develop and execute solutions.
• Able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• General maintenance duties including but not limited to minor plumbing, mechanical and electrical.
• Coordinating disposal of trash, recycling and damaged product to reduce our carbon footprint.
• Responsible for cleanliness and appearance of Lomar Distributing facilities, inside and out.
• Duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, power washing, scrubbing, dusting, and sanitizing.
• General janitorial duties within offices, restrooms and breakrooms.
• Complies with all Lomar security procedures when monitoring non-Lomar employed truck drivers and/or visitors.
• Orders sanitation and maintenance supplies as needed.
• Adheres to all food Safety and general safety guidelines and performs work in a safe manner.
• Attends departmental and company meetings.
• Assists with setup/teardown of large group meetings.
