As the Facility Operations Team Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Metropolitan buildings, including residential, recreation, lodging, and kitchen structures, ensuring safety and efficiency. The role involves managing and supervising operations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure functionality, safety, and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities include managing fire and life safety systems; energy conservation initiatives; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; building plant equipment; lighting and electrical systems; general repairs; construction projects; data center; office space planning, relocation activities, and modular furniture procurement; landscaping; and administration of related service contracts.

Schedule: 4/10 - Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

Hybrid Work: The current practice is a hybrid schedule, typically two days in person and the rest remote. This is subject to change based on organizational needs. A telework policy is in progress, which will provide final guidance once implemented.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with eight years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a project management, supervisory, or lead capacity; or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with six years of relevant experience, including at least two years in a project management, supervisory, or lead capacity.

Relevant experience includes building plant equipment, life safety systems, construction practices, codes and regulations, building management, preventative maintenance, management and supervisory concepts, budget practices, negotiation, project management, contract administration, emerging technologies in facility management, and customer relationship management.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent required at application.
