Job summary

The Metro Recycling Facility (MRF) Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of all operational activities and staff at the MRF, ensuring compliance with health and safety programs.

This role oversees safety, budgeting, equipment maintenance, vendor relationships, and training, while coordinating logistics for shipping and selling recyclables across the Des Moines metro area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• 3–5 years of progressive management experience, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health and safety of the facility and staff; comply with safe work practices and policies.
• Set work priorities, monitor practices, promote teamwork, manage budget, ensure environmental compliance.
• Improve operations and productivity while maintaining safety and operational excellence.
