Alter Trading Corporation in Rockford, IL is seeking an Assistant Facility Manager to oversee operations at a metal recycling facility under the Facility Manager. This hands-on role aims to develop future leaders and emphasizes safety and efficient production.

Responsibilities include supervising yard and road crews, overseeing scale and daily purchases, coordinating shipments, reviewing orders, monitoring material quality, and maintaining inventory.

• Flexibility to work outside in all weather and varying hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees and schedule work in yard and on road jobs daily.
• Operate and/or oversee scale and daily purchases.
• Schedule and organize pick-up of incoming loads; manage outbound shipments.
• Review sales orders and production to ensure scheduled orders are filled.
• Monitor quality of incoming material and processing to meet specs.
• Maintain daily inventory and input tickets into the system.
• Complete month-end yard function reports and forecasts for yard sales.
• Adopt and promote a culture of safety throughout the yard.
• Learn the business and perform other duties as assigned.
