Job summary

Alter Trading, a legacy metals recycler, seeks an Assistant Operations Manager for its South Beloit, IL site. You will support daily operations, safety, and production goals while supervising crews and coordinating training.

You will analyze data to fix quality issues, manage budgets, and ensure steel-mill standards and customer expectations. Relocation assistance is available for strong candidates.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in industrial, recycling, or heavy equipment environments.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Strong communication and leadership skills; willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Preferred Experience: Background in non-ferrous (NF) and ferrous metals, scrap, shredders, supervisory or leadership roles, or operations/team lead/manager positions
