Job summary

Limiting Factor Group (LFG) is seeking a Facility Operations Lead to run the South Bay data center near Menlo Park. You will supervise the site team, own the maintenance program, and be accountable for uptime, safety, and efficient operation of power, cooling, fire protection, and security systems.

You will manage vendor relationships and budgets, develop and enforce procedures, lead incident response, and coordinate on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years operating data centers or critical facilities
• At least 2 years leading a team
• Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, and building management systems
• Experience writing and following formal operating procedures for live systems
• Strong safety record and knowledge of electrical safety practices
• Experience managing maintenance vendors and budgets

Responsibilities

Job description

LFG designs, builds and manages power infrastructure for compute systems and utility providers. The Facility Operations Lead is responsible for the around-the-clock operation of our South Bay facility, so that customer equipment stays powered and cooled without interruption. You will lead the site team, own the maintenance program and be the person accountable for uptime and safety at the site.

Preferred qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical trade background, or military technical training such as the Navy nuclear program.
• Experience working with colocation customers.
• Data center operations certification, for example from Uptime Institute.

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
• Must be willing to travel to other LFG locations
• On site at an operating data center
• Available to respond to site emergencies at any hour
• Time in electrical and mechanical rooms and on rooftops
• Protective equipment; work around high-voltage equipment and loud machinery

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range:
$150,000.00 - $195,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at LFG.
