Job summary

State of New York - Environmental Conservation, Department of Stamford, NY seeks a Facility Operations Assistant 2 to perform custodial, grounds, and maintenance tasks, operate a range of self-propelled equipment, and follow written instructions. Basic vehicle operation knowledge and ability to perform routine repairs and heavy physical work are required.

Two years of full-time, verifiable maintenance experience and a valid NY driver's license are required; schedule is Monday–Thursday 6 AM–4:30

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade.
• When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of self-propelled heavy equipment and non-self-propelled machines.
• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
• Observe work in progress to ensure adherence to instructions, guidelines, and schedules.
