Job Description:

Alfred State College is hiring temporary Facility Operations Assistants to assist the grounds crew over the summer from 4/28/25-8/15/25. These positions will work 29 hours a week from 7:00am- 2:45pm Monday through Thursday. Duties include but are not limited to assisting with weed whacking, watering flowers, mowing, moving furniture, and cleaning windows/bus stops. This is an hourly position and the pay will be $17.35 an hour.

Facility Operations Assistants perform a variety of routine unskilled and semiskilled manual tasks related to the operation and maintenance of State-owned buildings and facilities, the surrounding grounds, and the vehicles and equipment used in maintaining these sites.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
