Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) seeks a Facility Manager to oversee a 2-bay maintenance shop at Decatur, IL, ensuring safe, compliant operations and a reliable profit margin. The role requires leading teams, coordinating training, and aligning with safety programs to support 24/7 operations.

You will implement environmental health standards, supervise staff, hire and discipline per policy, and drive cost controls while delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience managing P&L.
• 3 years of management experience.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, transportation, or similar industry.
• Safety performance and EHS compliance responsibility.
• Customer-facing / customer service experience.
• Comfortable working in harsh environments (temperature, outdoor).

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and environmentally correct practices and procedures by adhering to all Company SOPs.
• Provide training for facility staff and oversee shift tasking.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety audits and monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain building, grounds and equipment; arrange scheduled maintenance and quotes.
• Input on capital expenditure projects for the facility.
• Maintain regulatory compliance reporting with federal/state/local agencies.
• Assist sales by identifying revenue opportunities while controlling costs.

We are searching for a Facility Manager to create a safe and desirable work environment in order to produce an acceptable profit margin while excelling in service quality and maintaining regulatory compliance. This position will involve leading a 2 bay maintenance Shop (on the same site).

Flexible; includes nights, weekends, and holidays as required to support start-up and 24/7 operations

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and environmentally correct practices and procedures by adhering to all Company SOP’s.
• Provide training for all tank technician and office personnel at the facility. Provide tank technician with daily tasks during shift changes.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and detailed quarterly safety audit of the facility. Conduct documented monthly safety meetings.
• Maintain building, grounds, and equipment by arranging for regularly scheduled maintenance utilizing lead personnel and getting quotes and/or approval on corrective maintenance.
• Provide input on an annual basis regarding capital expenditure projects for the facility.
• Maintain regulatory compliance reporting in accordance with federal / state agencies or local municipalities.
• Maintain waste logs, prepare drums for and complete shipments of waste off-site.
• Hire, discipline, reward, and terminate employees in accordance with current corporate policy.
• Assist in the sales effort to increase revenues by seeking new revenue opportunities and maintaining tight cost controls by using corporate authorized vendors, minimizing overtime, conserving assets, and proper management techniques.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience managing P&L
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3 years of management experience
• Experience managing a team in chemical manufacturing, transportation, or similar industry
• Has had responsibility for safety performance and EHS compliance
• Has experience in a customer facing / customer service role
• Has worked in a harsher environment (temperature, industrial, outdoor)
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Comfortable working in a variety of computer systems and technology
