Job summary

Katmai seeks a Facility Manager to provide hands-on coordination and admin support for Liberty Barracks and the Soldier Recovery Unit S4. You will conduct inspections, track maintenance requests, coordinate contractors, maintain occupancy records, and ensure safety and functionality of barracks.

The role requires experience with Excel/Teams, ability to lift 50 pounds, and clear English. You will prepare reports, manage room assignments, and support VIP visits.

Job description

SUMMARY

Provides hands-on facility coordination and administrative support for Liberty Barracks and the Soldier Recovery Unit S4 Section in support of Soldiers in Transition, military personnel, Nonmedical Attendants, and Civil Service personnel. The Facility Manager conducts facility and room inspections, submits and tracks maintenance requests, coordinates access for contractors and Civil Engineering personnel, maintains occupancy and facility records, supports room assignments, and performs cleaning and other operational tasks necessary to maintain the safety and functionality of the barracks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the daily operation, safety, security, maintenance, and functionality of Liberty Barracks through inspections, work-order coordination, recordkeeping, and cleaning.
  • Conduct routine facility and safety inspections and submit required work orders.
  • Track and follow up on service calls involving electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, painting, elevator, equipment, appliance, and other facility needs.
  • Submit equipment, facility, and appliance work orders through NEXGEN.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and completion of maintenance work with contractors, Civil Engineering personnel, and other responsible parties.
  • Escort contractors and Civil Engineering personnel to Soldiers’ rooms and mechanical rooms.
  • Communicate facility information to Charge of Quarters personnel, contractors, and Civil Engineering workers.
  • Provide general cleaning services for Liberty Barracks.
  • Clean and maintain vacant rooms.
  • Maintain organized and clean common areas and report Soldier in Transition violations to the Detachment Command Team.
  • Inspect rooms before occupants arrive and conduct room walkthroughs when occupants sign for their rooms.
  • Conduct room inspections with occupants before clearing them from the barracks and accepting returned keys.
  • Review and assign rooms to Soldiers in Transition.
  • Prepare and process intake paperwork for Soldiers in Transition.
  • Maintain and update the daily Liberty Barracks roster using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams.
  • Provide barracks and facility reports required by the Battalion, BAMC, installation, or other designated organizations.
  • Prepare and distribute reports to the Command Team as needed and every Friday.
  • Gather and count used linens, drop them off on Mondays, and pick them up on Thursdays.
  • Pick up supplies from self-help to maintain the barracks.
  • Maintain facility security cameras and report deficiencies to the Provost Marshal Office or 502d.
  • Maintain facility keys and report deficiencies to the Detachment Command Team.
  • Coordinate with internal and external agencies regarding Liberty Barracks service requests, facility needs, and scheduled activities.
  • Assist with coordinating and scheduling VIP visits to the barracks.
  • Prepare presentation slides and attend required Company and Battalion meetings and training.
  • Collect data and prepare command-directed reports related to facility management, work orders, and other related tasks.
  • Forward correspondence received from all organizational levels to Company leadership and Platoon and Squad Leaders.
  • Receive and document internal and external facility-management taskings for accountability and action completion.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams to maintain and update the barracks roster.
  • Experience performing facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety, security, equipment, and appliance needs.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English, and be computer literate.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Ability to coordinate facility services and communicate with contractors, Civil Engineering personnel, unit staff, leadership, and internal and external agencies.

  • Ability to prepare, submit, track, and follow up on work orders and service requests.

  • Ability to maintain accurate facility, occupancy, room assignment, key, maintenance, inspection, and tasking records.

  • Ability to collect information and prepare reports, rosters, presentation slides, and other facility-management materials.

  • Ability to review and assign rooms, process intake paperwork, and conduct room inspections and occupant walkthroughs.

  • Ability to maintain facility security cameras and keys and report identified deficiencies to the appropriate personnel.

  • Familiarity with or ability to learn/use other technology management tools employed in the work environment.

  • Excellent responsiveness and customer service skills.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high visibility environment with relative autonomy.

  • Ability to manage work environment and workload with minimum supervision, based on knowledge of work priorities.

  • Ability to set and achieve goals, working successfully as an individual contributor or as part of a team.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and within established guidelines.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, including the normal office equipment (e.g., computer, fax machines, copier) and with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Personnel must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended period of time; bending, stooping, and working in sometimes uncomfortable positions. Personnel must be able to lift and carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds, and/or maneuvering, pushing or sliding items for proper positioning. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse.   • Base Rate: Per the wage determination

  • Health & Welfare Fringe: $5.09 per hour up to 40 hours
