Job description

Job Description: Facility Manager

The Facility Manager is the key point of contact for the customer; they manage, supervise, and coordinate internal and external services to provide a safe, productive environment for patients, guests, and employees. The Facility Manager will provide leadership, support, and coordination to project teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all program objectives and regulatory requirements. They will also act as a liaison between the client/users and project participants, including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate facility services such as parking, security, cleaning, landscaping, building systems, equipment maintenance, fire safety, and emergency response.
  • Maintain customer relationships through site visits and proactive engagement.
  • Ensure a safe work environment through education, training, and safety practices.
  • Oversee financial management of cost centers, seek cost efficiencies, and handle forecasting and reporting.
  • Conduct regular site inspections for safety, condition, and aesthetics; manage vendor and partner meetings to ensure quality and scope adherence; act as escalation point during emergencies.
  • Assist in developing policies, standards, and represent the department on committees and professional organizations.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with policies, codes, and regulations.
  • Assess and document project scope, objectives, and constraints, including safety, operational, and aesthetic criteria.
  • Manage review and approval processes for design work and project budgets.
  • Maintain accurate project records, files, and space inventory reports.
  • Coordinate with landlords for service levels and approvals related to lease agreements and tenant improvements.
  • Oversee lease administration and landlord relationships.
  • Manage procurement and installation of furnishings and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Fire Life Safety regulations and lease terms.
  • Oversee project management for upgrades and coordinate facilities requests.
  • Manage selection, negotiation, and contracting with consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in the FS&P On Call System and staff development activities.
  • May require on-call availability during non-standard hours to respond to emergencies, with additional compensation if applicable.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of progressively responsible related work experience.
  • Professional designations from BOMI, IFMA, or CRECI are preferred.
  • Strong judgment, analysis, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage building operations, contracts, and compliance.

The targeted hourly compensation range is $61.11 to $67.91, based on education, experience, certifications, and location.
