Job summary

The City of Henderson is seeking a Part-Time Facility Maintenance Technician I in the Public Works department. The role involves unskilled and manual labor for maintenance and repair of City facilities and grounds, with an average of 19 hours per week.

Flexibility in schedule, including evenings and weekends, may be required. Candidates must have a high school diploma, at least one year of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and applicable certifications (CPO, OSHA).

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
• One year of full-time experience performing general facility or building maintenance.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or border state driver's license.
• Must possess and maintain the NPSF CPO certificate within three months of hire.
• Must obtain and maintain the appropriate OSHA card as defined by NRS 618.950.
• All required certifications must be obtained/maintained as a condition of employment.
• Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based background check and a wants/warrants check.
• Must complete NCIC/NCJIS certification within six months of hire and be recertified yearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of unskilled and manual labor tasks related to maintenance and repair of City facilities, buildings, and grounds.
• Work average of 19 hours per week; hours may vary based on departmental need.
• Possibly work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist with routine upkeep and minor repairs as directed by supervisory staff.
