Job summary

Domaille Engineering is seeking a Facility & Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair facility systems on the production floor, ensuring safe, reliable operations. Level I or II responsibilities will scale with experience, from routine maintenance to more complex diagnostic work.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and coordinating with outside contractors. A high school diploma is required; ITAR compliance applies for access to controlled information.

Description

The Facility & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, safety, and general upkeep of the company’s facility, equipment, and building systems. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and other facility-related tasks to support safe and reliable operations. This position may be filled at either the Technician I or Technician II level based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications. Level I technicians perform routine maintenance with guidance, while Level II technicians independently diagnose and complete more complex maintenance work.

Itar Requirements

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which restricts access to export-controlled information to U.S. persons. A U.S. person is generally defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or others specifically authorized under U.S. export regulations. General work authorization (e.g., work permit or EAD) or visa sponsorship does not meet ITAR requirements.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility systems within the individual's training and qualifications.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and identify equipment or facility problems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, utilities, and facility areas.
• Assist with installation, relocation, setup, and removal of equipment and facility components.
• Perform basic fabrication, assembly, drilling, fastening, painting, and other general maintenance tasks as needed.
• Maintain shop, maintenance areas, tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized and safe condition.
• Support facility cleanliness, waste handling, snow removal, grounds maintenance, and other general facility activities as assigned.
• Assist with maintaining compressed air, water, electrical, lighting, and other utility systems.
• Assist outside contractors and service providers with facility and equipment maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and work-order documentation.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Properly use personal protective equipment and maintenance tools.
• Communicate equipment issues, safety concerns, and facility deficiencies to the appropriate supervisor(s).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate basic mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Previous experience in maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field preferred but not required.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to read basic measurements and understand simple mechanical drawings, manuals, and instructions.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving record requirements, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position is on the production floor and involves regular exposure to active manufacturing, shop, utility, and facility areas.
• May require work in outdoor environments and exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Work environment inside is generally clean and climate-controlled, with typical plant lighting, machinery operation, and other conditions associated with manufacturing facilities.
• Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and composite or steel-toe shoes, must be worn as required.
• May be required to work outside normal business hours for maintenance, emergency response, or facility needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb, balance, and work in various positions for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Use hands and fingers to handle tools, controls, equipment, and other objects, including reaching above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Lift, slide, push, pull, and carry up to 100 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and within company-established limits.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other equipment as required.
• Talk and hear to communicate effectively with coworkers, vendors, and others.
