Job summary

## Facility Maintenance Supervisor (Parks)Applylocations: Parks Front Street Operationstime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 9 Days Agojob requisition id: JR101735**SALARY**$61,733.50 - $77,166.85**JOB SUMMARY****JOB SUMMARY:**Under general supervision, the facility maintenance supervisor directs, monitors, and is responsible for advanced skilled licensed techs and non-skilled non-licensed techs that engage in repair, maintenance, construction duties, and custodial operations for the Parks and Recreation Department, which includes recreation centers, parks, and pools; ability to oversee construction contracts, meet with contractors, schedule staff, and inspect such work.**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*** Plan, direct, and monitor complex infrastructure systems, including parks, facilities, pools, and lake systems* Do long and short-range planning and implementing long range preventative and predictive maintenance to improve asset life through improved estimating requirements and procuring appropriate tools, materials, supplies, and resources for work projects and directing above tasks through subordinate support personnel.* Develop, implement, review, and inspect plans for construction of new parks, pools, and facilities, as well as, renovation of existing facilities, to provide technical assistance and ensure long range maintenance feasibility and usability.* Prepare and supervise the preparation of maintenance and operations reports, proposals, contracts, specifications, records, safety logs, etc., which also includes departmental payroll, annual budget, and policies and procedures for the department and unit.* Manage contract administration, which includes selecting and hiring contractors and consultants while monitoring work progress and ensuring compliance with allocated budgets, and city, state, and federal regulations.* Plan, schedule, monitor, and provide feedback to multiple trades' staff through a systematic process that collects, analyzes, and improves service delivery.* Thorough knowledge of the common practices, requirements, inspections, and state laws required to monitor and properly maintain all playground and aquatic facilities.**OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:*** Communicate and solicit feedback from other units and city departments for effective and efficient use of resources and high customer satisfaction* Evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data and/or information using established criteria, which includes exercise of discretion in determining actual or probable consequences, and in referencing such evaluation to identify and select alternatives.* Ensure equipment, machinery, tools, and supplies are properly inventoried, maintained and used at all times; ability to operate and control actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials requiring complex and rapid adjustments.* Function in a supervisory/management capacity for a group of workers, including the ability to make decisions on procedural and technical levels; ability to make recommendations and assist Park Operations Manager in developing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the division.* Oversee a budget of approximately over $1million dollars in general funds, capital improvement projects, and capital maintenance projects**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:* Knowledge of construction, maintenance, and operations of roads, bridges, lighting systems, facilities, pools, lakes, trails, and other infrastructure items.* Knowledge of current rules, regulations and codes affecting electrical, plumbing and pools.* Knowledge of parks, facilities, and related construction practices.* Knowledge of procurement procedures at state, federal, and local government levels.* Skill in analyzing and evaluating policies, procedures, services, and facilities in order to develop recommendations for improvements.* Skill in annual budget preparation.* Skill in communication with other city employees and officials by both oral and written means. Skill in mediation and customer service.* Ability to perform a variety of physical functions, including but not limited to, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, hearing, seeing, and sorting.* Ability to operate a variety of office equipment. including but not limited to, PC, telephone, fax, and copier.* Ability to operate a motorized vehicle.Qualifying Education and Experience:* Associate's degree in Business Administration, Park Administration, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field, plus 2 years supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
