Position Summary

The Facility Maintenance Supervisor for our HVAC and Building Systems will assist in supervising and coordinating the activities and operations of the Engineering Department, including safety, security, and event staffing functions. This position provides highly responsible maintenance support to the Engineering Manager. The role requires availability for late afternoon start times and weekend coverage, based on operational and event needs.

This role pays an hourly rate of $30.00 - $31.00.

About The Venue

The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000-square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000-square-foot ballroom, and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the overall operations and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Ensure optimal performance of water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, VAV boxes, AHUs, and fan coil units.
• Plan, assign, and supervise daily maintenance activities.
• Integrate Metasys BMS controls into workflow for monitoring and diagnostics.
• Evaluate work methods, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Ensure compliance with standards set by Palm Beach County.
• Maintain accurate CM and PM records in MicroMain.
• Generate reports on system performance using Metasys.
• Supervise and oversee HVAC and utility service setup for events.
• Coordinate with concessionaires and monitor external contractors and engineers.
• Train HVAC and maintenance staff as needed. Provide training on HVAC systems, Metasys, and facility operations.
• Assist in department budget planning and monitoring.
• Maintain inventory of HVAC components, supplies, and refrigerants.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and MSDS documentation.
• Ensure adherence to HVAC-related federal, state, and local regulations.
• Monitor and optimize HVAC performance using Johnson Controls Metasys.
• Run diagnostics and repair the commercial HVAC systems.
• Handle repairs across multiple facility systems (plumbing, electrical, structure).
• Use the building management systems, CMMS software, and MS Office Suite.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of supervisory or lead-level experience dealing hands-on with commercial HVAC systems, including: Water- and air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, VAVs, AHUs, and fan coil units.
• Extensive experience with Johnson Controls Metasys BMS is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in building maintenance software such as MicroMain or similar CMMS.
• Experience in high-demand facilities (e.g., convention centers, hotels, hospitals, or sports venues).
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, HVAC safety standards, and hazardous materials communication protocols.
• Specialized training or certifications in HVAC or building maintenance systems preferred.
