Job summary

Summary of the Job

Hours for this role are Monday - Friday 2pm - 10:30pm

Role Description

Facility Engineers at the FNN Data Centers monitor and support physical conditions including electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and Data Center operations. Data Center duties will include heating and cooling of air and water systems, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. Perform inspections of and maintain various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components. Conduct daily conditional assessment tours of systems, assess their working order, and gather data points. Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and chemical treatment systems, HVAC and controls, and monitoring systems. Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facility systems and equipment. Assist with equipment replacement plans and inventory management.

About This Role: Key Accountabilities
  1. Perform preventive maintenance and on demand repair of building systems, equipment and property maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems used in a data center environment (e.g., Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/RPP units).
  • Ensure proper maintenance of critical data center equipment Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), HVAC systems, generators, and physical facilities conditions.
  • Knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment.
  • Report and resolve technical issues identified within the Data Center.
  • Monitor and evaluate data center performance, including power consumption, ambient temperature and other critical factors affecting data center operation.
  • Keep technical documentation of the data center up-to-date and accessible to include user manuals, diagrams, and maintenance records.
  • Monitor Work Orders and ensure all customer tickets and responded to within required SLA times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, vendors and end customers to receive and provide status updates to ensure all stakeholders are informed through completion of Work Order Request.
  • Supervise vendors and contractors working in the data center, ensuring compliance and security standards.
  • Continuously evaluate the data center for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Interior and exterior building maintenance project oversite.
  • Works with Engineer Team to remove snow.
  • Ability to be on-call after normal business hours to support emergency calls on a regular rotation or as needed based on business needs.
  • A company cellular phone will be provided to monitor system outages and/or equipment failures requiring your response for corrective action.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
  1. Effectively manage the process of accurately and timely creation and capture of assigned on-demand and preventative maintenance work orders that are completed in a quality manner for internal and external customers.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a manner consistent with established guidelines for FNN properties.
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  1. Develop and maintain a strong customer focus for internal and external customer and vendor relationships.
  • Provide excellent customer service while complying with company policies.
  • Inspect the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Participate in project planning/construction meetings and execution of projects.
  • Escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  1. Maintain and develop "best-in-class" process and procedures supportive of organizational goals.
  • Assist Property Manager and/or Chief Engineer in creating and managing annual budgets and Five Year Equipment Replacement Plans.
  • Utilize ordering system to maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools and orders necessary materials to complete all tasks.
  • Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Provide input to and/or identify continuous improvement initiatives for process enhancements.
  1. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties.
  • Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls, as required.
  • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations.
  • Report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role: Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of work experience with HVAC, BMCS, electricity, plumbing and mechanical.
  • Customer service experience in building and/or property maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Automated Logic Controls BMCS experience beneficial.
  • Ability to utilize technology to communicate and complete daily tasks.
  • Physical requirements include:
    • Sitting, standing, and walking for a minimum of 3 hours per day.
    • Talking and hearing in person, on a phone, and in a group setting.
    • Vision: near, far, midrange, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
    • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
    • Ability to occasionally reach above shoulder level and below waist level.
    • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb (stairs/ladder).
    • Ability to constantly balance and utilize gross motor skills (grip/handle).
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions including: extreme heat, extreme cold, wet/humid, confined areas, high places, loud noise, and with equipment in motion.
  • Ability to work with Environmental Hazards: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, and Industrial Magnets.
Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience Desired
  • Certification in one or more of the following: HVAC and refrigeration services, electrical, mechanical and plumbing.
  • Working knowledge of Archibus software.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
Compensation

Compensation range (base pay): $49,751.00-$79,602.00. This role may have a specific starting pay within this range. Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
