Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Correction is seeking a Correctional General Maintenance Officer (40 Hour) to support the Facilities & Engineering Unit in maintaining and operating Cybulski Correctional Institution. This role involves oversight of critical systems and inmate supervision.

Selected candidates must complete a 14-week CTDOC Training Academy and will work on-site at Willard Cybulski Correctional Institution in Enfield, CT. Full-time employment with state benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Candidates must complete a 14-week CTDOC Training Academy program for hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain critical facilities systems including security fences, gates, doors, locks, and surveillance infrastructure.
• Supervise assigned inmates during maintenance activities.
• Keep records of tool inventory and usage.
• Perform snow and ice removal to maintain safe access for police, medical staff, and the public.
• Ensure humane conditions of confinement and compliance with federal and state directives.
