• Inspect and service generators, boilers and HVAC systems, troubleshoot problems, replacing parts and making minor repairs as needed.
• On-call and call-back duties may apply for maintenance and repair.

Job description

An employee in this class is responsible for conducting preventive maintenance and repair activities on Town facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry. Work includes checking and servicing generators, boilers and HVAC systems and involves troubleshooting problems, replacing parts and making minor repairs as needed. The employee is subject to hazards associated with facilities repairs including working in both inside and outside environments, and exposure to various hazards such as loud noises, vibration, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and oils. The employee may be subject to being on-call and call-back for maintenance and repair. Work is performed under regular supervision and is evaluated by observation, through work order completion, and on the basis of operational efficiency of equipment serviced.
