Job summary

Legacy Nursing in Louisiana is seeking a Maintenance Helper to assist the Maintenance Supervisor in keeping the facility safe and functional for residents and staff.

You will perform daily maintenance, monitor logs, address safety hazards, supervise when needed, coordinate quotes with vendors, and ensure compliance with Life Safety Code, HIPAA, and Legacy policies. This role may involve on‑call shifts and participation in QA meetings to support a well‑maintained, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Experience in long-term care settings preferred.
• Maintenance experience with facility systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs facility maintenance under supervision.
• Keeps the physical plant in safe, working order.
• Maintains maintenance logs and reports status to supervisor.
• Identifies safety hazards and corrects them promptly.
• May obtain quotes and supervise contract work as needed.
• Complies with Life Safety Code and facility regulations.
