Job summary

U-Haul International, Inc. is seeking a Facility Maintenance Helper to assist in maintenance of U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers and other facilities within a defined area. The role emphasizes safe operation of hand and power tools and timely completion of upkeep tasks.

Responsibilities include basic maintenance, installation, repair, painting, and site clean-up. Requires a valid driver’s license and adherence to safety regulations; pay range starts at $15.50–$17.50 hourly with benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate commercial vehicles.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness to participate in safety training and follow standards.

Responsibilities

• Effectively work with a variety of hand and power tools.
• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Handle work involving nailing, sawing, cutting, painting and basic facility maintenance.
• Perform clean-up duties at renovation sites.
• Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist skilled workers as needed.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.

The Facility Maintenance Helper will assist in the facility maintenance of all U-Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers and other U-Haul facilities within a geographical area.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
• Perform work requiring nailing, sawing, cutting, painting and basic facility maintenance

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles
• Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

Education/Training:

High school diploma or equivalent

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

Pay Range is: $15.5 - $17.5 Hourly
