Job summary

Tri Care LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our Nursing Home within the Engineering department. You will inspect equipment and perform basic repairs or preventative maintenance, reading repair manuals and using hand and power tools as needed.

Requirements include a high school education and experience in healthcare or residential facilities maintenance, with the ability to walk long distances, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

  • Able to use common tools (hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches).
  • Walk long distances, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs; must read and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Follow equipment maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Perform light painting, flooring, wallpapering, framing, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
  • Execute emergency mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Report wear, defects and malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Inspect premises and equipment regularly.
  • Oversee contractors for professional repairs.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures as needed.
  • Attend in-service trainings and follow facility rules including infection control.
  • Provide high level customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Assist in emergencies such as code E, fire, disaster and health care events as directed.
  • Follow code of conduct and HIPAA compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The candidate will work in the Engineering department to provide basic maintenance to our Nursing Home. You will inspect equipment and perform basic repairs or preventative maintenance. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance in health care or residental facilities, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read repair manuals.

Job Responsibilities:
  • 1. Follows equipment maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.,)
  • 2. Light painting, flooring, wall papering, framing, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
  • 3. Performs emergency mechanical repairs.
  • 4. Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning to supervisor.
  • 5. Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • 6. Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • 7. Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
  • 8. Attend in-service educational programs and be knowledgeable of facility’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding cleaning and infection control
  • 9. Practices the highest level of customer service in dealing with all internal and external customers and peers.
  • 10. Assists in emergency procedures ie, code E, fire, disaster, and general health care emergencies. as directed.
  • 11. Follows code of conduct and ensures resident privacy and is compliant with HIPAA.
  • 12. Will perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
  • 1. Education: High school education, equivalent
  • 2. License/Certification: None
  • 3. Equipment/Computer Software: Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • 4. Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • 5. Physical/Mental Demands: Walk long distances, and remain on her / his feet for long durations of time. Bend, squat, push, pull, reach, stretch and lift up to 50lbs.Speak, read and understand English.Hear the spoken word. Able to tolerate cleaning chemicals with use of appropriate equipment.
