Job summary

Aperion Care in Chicago, IL is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in accordance with current standards and facility directives from the Administrator and Director of Environmental Services.

The role involves following cleaning schedules, coordinating with nursing services, cleaning fixtures and floors, disposing waste properly, and applying safety practices and PPE when handling chemicals.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfectants, etc.
• Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily work/cleaning schedules.
• Report accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Coordinate housekeeping with nursing services during cleaning in resident areas.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish fixtures and bathroom areas.
• Clean floors: sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, etc.
• Dispose waste/trash correctly and relin e trash receptacles.
• Follow safety precautions and use PPE when handling chemicals or hazardous waste.
