Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Part-Time Float Pool Registered Nurse to join the Float Pool. The role requires applying the nursing process and coordinating patient care across departments.

You will maintain patient rights, abide by Mercy standards, and work 12 hours per week with shifts to be determined. A valid RN license and BLS are required; prior acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of nursing experience in acute care, preferred.
• Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program.
• Current RN license in hiring state or compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk routinely.

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patients care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information. Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year of nursing experience in acute care, preferred. Six months of this experience should be within the last year.
• Required Education: Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Physical requirements/demands:
  • Requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
