Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Facility Float Pool LPN to provide patient-centered care under supervision, using the nursing process and coordinating with other departments.

This full-time position offers a 12-hour night shift (7:00pm–7:30am), a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000, and comprehensive benefits; MO Board licensure required, at least 1 year acute care experience, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
• Licensure: Active Missouri LPN license and MO State Board of Nursing compliance.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing; last 6 months within the past year.
• Certifications: BLS from American Heart Association or completed within 30 days; LPN-IV certification or completion within 3 months in Missouri.

• Provide patient care using the nursing process under supervision.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments; maintain patient rights and confidentiality.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

• Status: Full-Time - 36 hours/week
• Shift: 12 Hour NIghts (7:00pm - 7:30am)

Qualifications

• Education : High school diploma or GED equivalent and graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Licensure : Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current Missouri LPN license and must meet all MO State Board of Nursing requirements.
• Experience : Must have a minimum of 1 year nursing experience in acute care. Six months of this experience should be within the last year.
• Certifications : Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri. Other unit specific certifications as required.

Physical

Requirements/Demands : Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
