Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an experienced Welding Trainer for the North Little Rock, AR area. You will deliver fabrication training, develop materials, and support new hires and welders across shifts to meet production needs.

You will need strong welding skills, leadership and communication abilities, and the capability to work with colleagues from multiple departments. This role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within Caterpillar.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of hands-on welding experience including GMAW, SMAW, FCAW and GTAW.
• Must pass all Production and Salvage welding tests within 6 months.
• Minimum of 1 year in current role (Internal).
• Not in the disciplinary process (Internal).
• Strong people and leadership skills to develop new hire existing skill set.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in order of importance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• 2–3 years of Manufacturing Experience preferred.
• Previous training/instructor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver various fabrication training modules (safety, technical, etc.) for new hire training.
• Assist in development of training material(s) and maintain all training records.
• Serve as a liaison between new hires and section managers to ensure the training process is consistent.
• Assist the production floor with coaching/training of current welders.
• Communicate effectively with individuals without fabrication background.
• Shift flexibility and overtime as needed to meet customer needs.

Job responsibilities

• Deliver various fabrication training modules (safety, technical, etc.) for new hire training

• Assist the production floor with additional coaching/training of current welders
• An understanding of the North Little Rock business, the ability to work with others across departments, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency and a positive attitude will be essential to success in this position
• Ability to effectively communicate with others that do not have a previous fabrication background
• Must be available to flex across all shifts and work overtime during the week and occasionally on weekends to meet customer needs

Basic Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of hands‑on welding experience including GMAW, SMAW, FCAW and GTAW
• Must be able to pass all Production and Salvage welding test requirements within 6 months
• Minimum of 1 year in current role (Internal)
• Not in the disciplinary process (Internal)
• Strong people and leadership skills to develop new hire existing skill set
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in order of importance
• Proven independent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities to complete job tasks
• Intermediate level of computer proficiency and with Microsoft office apps (Excel, Word, Outlook) required

Top Candidates will also have

• Experience in reading and interpreting AWS welding symbols
• 2-3 years of Manufacturing Experience preferred
• Previous training/instructor or teaching experience with preference to candidates acquiring these skills in a manufacturing environment
• Proven communication and organizational skills

Shift: 1st shift. May work 2nd and 3rd as business needs dictate.
Core Hours: 7am – 3pm but work as business needs dictate.
Starting pay rate: $27.05 - $34.00
Work location: North Little Rock, AR

Final Details

Summary Pay Range: $27.05 - $34.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
